Kaisi hai ye, rut ki jisme (Hindi)


This is a very sweet song from an even sweeter movie, 'Dil Chahta Hai'. Also the toughest song I've attempted so far. I tried singing it again and again and yet couldn't make it with anything near perfection. I mean, there are high notes and... Ah! I was gasping for breath after singing the whole stunt. I never thought it was so difficult to sing. Hat's off to Srinivas to sing to the tune of the trio musicians, Shankar-Eshaan-Loy.

    cool.. one of the songs, i keep singing to myself.. when i first learnt the song, i too discovered it wasn't as easy as it seems.. Took some practise before I could sing wihtout breaking off in between.. though ou say you were gasping for breath after singing, it is not reflected in the song here... i actualy felt you toched those high notes quite effortlessly and wihtout going shrill.. though in the version that i havve been singing a small difference in the lyrics - Geet barish Thithliyaan, Hum pe ho gaye hain mehrbaan.." maybe I was wrong al along.an error in what i heard while learning it.. :)

    Agree with the above comment.. Keep singing.. you inspire me to buy a sony ericson, or other good phone with recording and have some singing sessions of my own too. though am to lazy for that. :)

    I see what you mean about the high and lows. Not easy to do but you did do the song justice. An English translation for the lyrics sometime maybe? But beautifully sung in Hindi.
